Our Story - A history of Willy's Greenhouse

1987
Simon and Audrey Van Spronsen started Willy’s Greenhouse on November 1st, 1987 in the small town of Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. They purchased an older style greenhouse and made it their home. The business has been growing ever since …

Head house built and the front section of the greenhouse structure updated.

1997
Head house expanded further and back section of greenhouse structure updated

2001
50,000sq/ft of plant finishing area added.

2007
Wooden tables removed from greenhouses, and container system installed.

2011
20,000sq/ft of plant propagation area added; automation introduced

2017
50,000 sq. ft of growing space added, including 2 new automated robots. 50,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space added, including new offices, 3 transport docks and a man door.

Another 75,000 sq. ft. of growing space was added to Willy’s Greenhouse.
